Titanium helmet "Sphere" STSH-81 was developed in 1981 by the Institute of Scientific Research of Special Equipment commissioned by the Ministry of internal Affairs of the USSR. The helmet was delivered on equipment of various structures of the Ministry of internal Affairs. The helmet consists of three titanium armor elements 3 mm thick, they are inserted into the pockets of the fabric cover. The helmet protects the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital areas of the head.

The helmet design provides for adjustment of the fabric base for fitting to the head size, from 56 to 60 cm. In podolany of the helmet was provided for the installation of dampers made of polyurethane foam for the damping of dynamic effects on the soldier's head in contact with bullets and shrapnel. The helmet is fixed on the head with a belt with a Cup under the chin. Currently the helmet is discontinued, but is still equipping the structures of the interior Ministry. Helmet weight 2.3 kg.

Retains performance characteristics at temperatures of the surrounding air from minus 40 to plus 40°C. In conditions of high humidity of up to 98% at temperature plus 30°C. Self-assemble the helmet is very simple.
